Internet Explorer issues .....

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Atlas Realty Service, LLC Ga Re lic. 266576

With the most recent news about security issues with Internet Explorer, I decided to try both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.  I have to say that I really like them both and would like to try to continue avoiding Microsoft.

Here is the issue I'm having.  There are a couple of websites that I go to very often that are only compatible with Internet Explorer.   aaaarrrrrgh

Both of our local mls services require IE to navigate.  I contacted FMLS who uses Tempo marketlinx and they said it is true.  I can only use IE since adjusting the site would require "recoding".  Georgia MLS uses Fidelity NIS.

Also, to login to my point2 website requires IE.  The website itself views just fine with Firefox or Chrome, but to login and edit I must have IE.

Does anybody have any ideas or work arounds, or am I just venting :-).

Thanks for helping or just listening.

I use Mozilla Firefox and love it.  However, what annoys me is that our MLS system only lets you use internet explorer.

Carol Swain, Realtor -www.swainsells.com- Bucks County, Pa (Keller Williams Real Estate) - It sounds like you are having the same issues as I am.  For now I just use IE for the sites that won't work with Firefox or Chrome.

I just can't believe that these folks require IE when 30% or so (I think that is the figure that I heard) of their clients use another browser.

Sadly, I have the same problem with MLS and point2nls.  I guess we just have to deal.  Grrr.  I use Mozilla for everything else.

Our MLS, just today, finally updated and now supports Firefox and Chrome.  I currently use Mozilla and have not tried Chrome yet.  Techcrunch is predicting that Chrome will over take Mozilla in a couple of years.

Bob, I'm experiencing the same issues with our MLS and Point2 (and a few others).  I'm keeping an eye on comments for this post since I'm interested in learning about a workaround as well.
