WINTER WONDERLAND IN ALLYN WA
Our recent snowfall in Allyn WA this morning brought oh approximately 6 inches of fresh snow and some slippery conditions for sure. My husband was on a store run for several neighbors who couldn't get out in the snow and he took these pictures around the neighborhood of LakeLand Village. 
It is a winter wonderland and the beauty is breathtaking as the snow settles in for the upcoming days. When my husband asked if there were anything we needed at the store, we both decided to check with others on our street and in the neighborhood to see if they needed anything from the store as well, knowing that there are many who could not get around in this weather and had no other means to get to the store. There were quite a few and with list in hand off we went.
After numerous "OH HONEY ALMOST went in the ditch on that one" exclamations and me with my hands over my eyes, holding my breathe as he maneuvered flawlessly around stranded vehicles, down hills, and back up again - we returned home successfully and put a smile on our neighbors faces too! It is nice to be able to help out when we can! 
We are supposed to have extremely cold temperatures this evening and through the weekend (highs in the 20's - ridiculous!) and now's the time to check on your neighbor and make sure they are prepared as well as yourself. All this snow is going to freeze up solid and make things more slippery. Check on pets as well too.
The best part of a small community like LakeLand Village in Allyn WA is the spirit of a small town. Everyone helping each other when they can. Shoveling a neighbors sidewalk, pulling that trashcan in, giving someone a ride, or just aying hello - small things mean big things to others. And that special wave as you drive by - that's small town etiquette you know!
