For all those out there that don't understand the definition of the word Passion...Let's look it over real quick!
Passion-Any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love or hate. An outburst of strong emotion or feeling.
Being a California Real Estate Broker, I have a passion for what I do, which is financing people's dreams and being engaged in real estate. I had a passion for it while watching my dad buy and sell real estate at a young age. I had a passion for real estate helping the Realtors set up balloons and flyers on Sundays in my neighborhood as a young boy. I had a passion for real estate when I was helping my dad's business grow as a loan officer in the early 90's as a teenager in Southern California, passing out his message on flyers into the LA Times on a Sunday morning at 4 am...freezing my butt off! I had a passion for Real Estate when I studied for my Brokers Exam on the beaches of Spain. I had a passion for Real Estate when I cried in the library at California State University, Chico when I found out that I passed my exam. And I have a passion for it now, as I help my clients to experience one of life's greatest gifts. The ability to put a roof over their family's head, put their stake in the American dream and call 4 walls and a roof...HOME!
A home is the backbone of our society, where a family can laugh,cry,have struggles,share in triumpths and pitfalls and fight to survive another day in the sometimes crazy world of life that exists outside their homes. The positive that gets instilled back into our communities on a day-to-day basis from the self-confidence that home ownership provides is a necessity
to a healthy country.
When I talk to new and existing clients, I take their goals and objectives in. I have the passion to help their dreams come alive. This weekend, I will be sitting down and having dinner with a client that bought their first home with my help. The couple had a great experience and they are now welcoming me to the dinner table of their first home. What a joy!
Have a passion in this business. And if you don't...Get out! You're in a comfort zone or doing it just for the money...and for that I feel bad for you. You're not doing yourself or your clients a good service...
At the end of the day, did you close loans and sell homes or did you physically meet the lives you touched and welcome the daily challenge with a passion?
I love Real Estate!
I love the people that allow me to help them realize their dreams!
I love waking up each day not knowing what to expect!
And most of all, I feel blessed that the man upstairs connected me to what I have a passion for, while being able to provide for my family.

Excellent post Scott. I firmly believe that if we can't do something with passion, we're cheating ourselves. I try to apply that philosophy in all areas of my life...beautiful family!
