I'm watching The View while working on a purchase offer and today's episode includes a section called Gifts That Give Back. Basically, if you go to these web sites and buy something, the seller either donates to a charity of your choice, donates an item identical to the one you purchased, donates to a child in need, or you're helping someone who has handcrafted the goods to make a living.

goodshop.com -- Choose your charity. Shop online. Goodshop donates. -- This is awesome.

maryfisher.com -- You might know Mary Fisher as an author, artist, and speaker advocating for AIDS victims, specifically women and children. Here you can buy her books and handmade crafts by women and children in AIDS-devasted Africa.

heromiles.com -- Donate unused frequent flyer miles to the Fisher House Foundation. Your donation helps our service personnel stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan to fly home on leave for free.

cellphonesforsoldiers.com -- Cell Phones For Soliders collects old cell phones and recycles them, turning them into prepaid minutes for U.S. troops stationed overseas.

laptop.org -- "One laptop per child." I don't know what to say about this site other than it brought tears to my eyes. You buy a laptop and they donate a laptop to children throughout the world. These are special green laptops specifically designed for children. You have to see this to believe it.

tomsshoes.com -- For every pair of shoes purchased, Toms Shoes donates a pair to a child in need.

I now feel that my Christmas is complete, but it will be more complete if you'll re-blog this to give it greater exposure. You and I both get 25 points for re-blogging. Let's spread the Christmas cheer!

I really like Heifer International. Its all about sustainable agriculture and they have a really neat holiday catalog. I really think its good to give. People need help and you listed some great ways you can.
