Real Estate Predictions for 2009

By
Real Estate Agent with Florida Homes Realty and Mortgage

HGTV's FrontDoor.com Web site recently posted Ten Real Estate Predictions for 2009.  They ring true, especially:

Home values will continue to fall as sellers compete with bank's large inventory of foreclosures as well as builders who are slashing the prices of their plentiful inventory of new homes.

Buying Opportunities Abound - With low property prices and record low interest rates, reluctant buyers will finally get off the fence. Sitting on the fence

Mobile search, video and webcasts - Buyers and sellers become more tech savvy and leading agents will have to keep up to date in this ever evolving arena.

Most importantly they predict that the recession will end and confidence in the market will be restored.

Another prediction: we will see more short sales and REOs through 2011. So I guess I will hone my skills in getting offers accepted when I am the buyer. Maybe I'll even seriously look into what it will take to be an REO agent, although some folks tell me it's too late since there are so many of them now.
