The 12 Days of Listing (Your Lancaster Home for Sale)

 Do you have a Home for Sale in Lancaster County, or one that you are thinking of Listing for sale within the next few weeks? I've been getting into a holiday mood, and thought it might be helpful if I shared my rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas as The 12 Days of Listing -- or -- How to Prepare Your Lancaster Home for Sale in 12 days!

1.  On the First Day of Listing (Your Lancaster Home):

De-clutter your closets!

Are you still saving those parachute pants from the 80's?  How about the disco outfit? Seriously, it's time to get rid of them. Trust me. Clean out your closets -- if you haven't worn something for over a year (or a decade), it's time to donate it to charity. If it's un-wearable because it's stained, torn and worn, please just ditch it as charity deserves better than that.

Pick up the dirty clothes from the closet floor, and put those in the hamper. Yes, you know who you are, and no, we don't need to see those dirty skivvies.

Organize your shoe racks -- or better yet, buy shoe racks! Invest in some nifty and economical closet organizer systems. If you really have too many clothes that you just can't part with, try putting away seasonal clothes and storing them elsewhere - such as a rented storage space (because believe me, you will need it by the time we get to Day 12!)

You will need to have your closets to look organized, clean and spacious. This is much more important than you might realize!
