Localism and Listing Router Sittin' in a Tree…

By
Services for Real Estate Pros

The ActiveRain team rarely sleeps or vacations. Today, I'm pleased to announce the happy marriage of Listing Router and Localism. Here's how it works:

You sponsor a Localism city or community: You can now login to your Localism account (https://localism.com/account) and assign a "Listing Router URL" for any city or community that you've sponsored. Simply click on a sponsored location in the sidebar (on the right) and scroll down. You'll notice a new component (pictured below, Figure 1). Provide the URL to your IDX site; it'll be displayed prominently on the relevant city or community page (Figure 2).

(Figure 1: The new Listing Router URL box in your "My Account" Localism screen)

You run Listing Router campaigns on ActiveRain: You don't have to do anything! Your existing campaigns will run automatically on Localism, immediately and dramatically increasing your exposure to consumers. The invitation to view homes in the local area is both bold and decisive; see for yourself in Figure 2.

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm sponsoring a city/community in Localism and have assigned a Listing Router URL. Will I have to share clicks with people sponsoring Listing Router campaigns for the same area on ActiveRain?

No — the sponsor of a city or community on Localism will receive all clicks for that area.

Will I be charged per click for traffic generated from my sponsored Localism city/community?

No — the potentially unlimited traffic generated from your sponsored locations is included as part of your monthly fee.

Enjoy! I'm excited about the future of Localism and ActiveRain! (mostly because I have access to the "master" whiteboard that holds the blueprint for these coming months… it's going to be a roller-coaster ride!)

Great bonus for Localism! I had a few more communities, dropped them, only keeping one. Now I am wondering if I shouldn't revisit that plan...

Jorgen, man that is cool!  I'm really glad I got my communities during the land rush.  Now, I know y'all are wamped with bugs but could you pretty please take a look at my profile again sometime in the future my photo is not showing up and the profile is all out of whack again and no one else in my area seems affected.  Thansk!

Jorgin.  I understand this ..that is is important to get the information to protect your territory what the problem for me is in western Pa ( Pittsburgh area) with the West Penn Multi-list controlled by local brokers we as Realtors ARE NOT allowed to link to our multi-list or the IDX capibilities that the multi-list offers.  If we have our own sites we are not even allowed to frame the multi-list

In this situation I can only access my page on my company site.  do I then understand this will not work for me?  If we can not take  advantage if the IDX and multi-list Then does this give rights to Market leader to capture those leads and what are my options...thanks I really need to clear this up

Jorgen- I have a Listing Router campaign and a Localism sponsorship for Westport, CT.  When I go to the Localism page, I do not see the View Homes for Sale box.

I signed in and did not see the new component to provide the URL to my IDX site.  Thanks, I could use some help.

That's a pretty cool button.  I've been looking for it, but didn't think to sign out just to see it.  It's a bummer I've waited so long to make it work.  When does procrastination ever pay?!  :-)

Just sponsored 3 cities in my area. Any suggestions on what to do First, Second, Third? I won't be able to do anything with it until Tuesday, busy ...any suggestions would be appreciated. I want them to be successful sponsorships.

(and for some reason can't change out and old picture of me that shows up in localism. It keeps reverting back to orginal picture?)
