The Order of DeMolay changed its name to Fernando W. Camus Chapter. The late Fernando W. Camus was one of the charter members of the local chapter, founded in 1923.

 

American Air Taxi began three flights daily between Marathon and Miami.

 

Frank Tynes Jr. was named Worshipful Master of the Dr. Felix Varela Lodge No. 84 Free and Accepted Masons.

 

Charles B. Sands was installed as worshipful Master of the Union Lodge No. 47 Free and Accepted Masons.

 

100 years

The railroad plans called for 1,000 workers south of Knights Key in 30 days.

 

The public schools and Ruth Hargrove School were closed for the holidays. The public schools were to reopen on Jan. 4.
