Our MLS (MRIS) has just released November 2008 home sales stats for the MRIS coverage area on December 10, 2008.  Once again because of its prime location to all in the DC area for access, commute, WMATA...in the Northern Virginia Fairfax County leads the region in home sales easily with 872 homes in Fairfax. That is always surprising because the average home prices in Fairfax are so much higher, but price trends are moving down even as mortgage interest rates decline to record lows.   Prince William County Virginia came in second with a much different average price, but the home in Prince William County area increasing because of all the foreclosures and distressed properties.  Prince William homes sales have increased because price has free fallen there.
