How would you feel if you saw an ad in the paper for a business that advertised it was open 24 hours a day -- but when you got there at 11 p.m. the doors were locked, the lights were out, and there was a sign that said: 'Sorry, we're closed.'?
Not only that, but when you looked at a sign on the window that showed their hours of operation, it showed that they close at 10 p.m.
But wait. That's not all. Right beside the sign that shows the hours of operation, there is a sign that reads: 'Open 24 hours'
Huh?
How can a business call itself reputable if it advertises that it is open 24 hours a day, but closes at 10 p.m.? It's deceptive advertising, to say the least.
I was updating my profile today on one of the notary sites. I clicked on the profile of one of the notaries in my area and saw this:
He has the logo for notaries who are available 24 hours a day. And in his profile it says 'Yes' for '24 Hr Notary Service' But when you look at his 'Hours Available for Notary Public Work:', you see a totally different picture.
It makes you wonder how much of what this person says in his profile is actually true. What does he tell people who call him and ask if he's available 24 hours a day? 'Yes, I'm available 24 hours a day ... but only from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.'
The public has to be able to trust a notary.
