Back in August our very own beloved  Brad Andersohn wrote some enticing blogs on Flip Video cameras. 

Recently there have been some wonderful upgrades to the flip video program called flipshare.

One of my favorites is the "Greeting Cards".  It is so easy to send video greeting cards for holidays or birthdays or whatever!

I am working at honing my skills as a videographer and using this program but it is so easy to use and has lots of options to explore.

 

Speaking of Greeting Cards I'll share about that first.  In the screen shot below along the bottom there's a tool bar with graphics.  All you need to do is select a video you'd like to send to someone and click on greeting cards...presto the video pops into your card, add the email address and a note and off it goes!!!

This is a great way to stay in touch with customers, family and friends and it is at a price you just can't beat!  Take a look at this great card: 

Next is the Video Online Option...You can easily upload videos from your computer to myspace, youtube and more with just a click and drag.

Another great option is taking snapshots from your video.  Did you ever take a picture and it just didn't turn out right or you just missed a great shot?  That is nearly impossible with the snapshot option, all you do is shoot the video and slide the dial across the bottom to select that perfect picture and save it to your computer.

As you can see there are other options available on the new Flip Video Program that make it a real must-have for Christmas or whatever holiday you celebrate...Forget the holiday, just get one they're awesome!

Sara, if my camera is older when I plug in does it allow the new flip additions to automatically download the greeting cards? Or do I go to the website and download from there?

Missy,  When I went to upload videos to my computer the upgrade option popped up and I downloaded it.  If that doesn't happen for you I would deninitely go to the website, it is well worth it and much more user friendly.

Sara, thanks for the many tips.  I keep reading posts about using flip video.  I bought one a long time ago and it's been sitting in a drawer.  Shame on me, I smell a new years resolution here - USE MY FLIP VIDEO CAMERA!

Sara - this is great stuff. I loe my Flip but have NOT explored the options. Clearly I need to do that, and with your help now I know so much more. I go t the automatic update recently but didn;t bother to see what that meant. My bad.

Flips are great. Easy to use. Easy to upload and change. The price can't be beat for the features.

Michael, You won't regret it. When I think of those big bulky video cameras and compare it to the flip & all it has to offer...we've come a long way, there just isn't any comparison.
