La Canada - Descanso Gardena entrance sign Among the treasures of La Cañada Flintridge is Descanso Gardens. With over 80 acres, Descanso Gardens is truly one of the most beautiful sites in Southern California.

As you enter Descanso Gardens, you will find abundant free parking.
Adjacent to the parking lot is a picnic area with tables nestled under a canopy of trees.

Descanso Gardens is a popular destination for weddings and wedding photography. What a lovely backdrop for wedding photos!

La Canada - Descanso Gardens

Descanso Gardens has trails and paths, streams, and is known for their camellias and oaks. The flowers and fauna are truly amazing. The setting is ideallic.

If you are a visitor to Descanso Gardens, you probably will see many generations enjoying this oasis from city life.

In addition to the gardens, you will find a Japanese Tea House, a gift shop and a cafe. Relax and enjoy the ambiance!

The landmark "Boddy House" has art exhibits. There is also the "Enchanted Railroad" (narrow gauge). Tram tours are offered.

The facilities are available for rental. Descanso Gardens has special events and lectures that are open to the public, plus volunteer opportunities.

I have lived near La Canada for years (in La Crescenta) and agree that Descanso Gardens is absolutely beautiful. What a great place to have around to just enjoy a nice afternoon walk!

Fran, can we go to the cafe at Descanso Gardens when I visit? I'd like to stop by that gift shop too! I love reading about all the neighborhoods in your area. Would like to stop by that Japanese Tea House too!

Annette - Absolutely! You're going to love Descanso Gardens. It's an oasis. As you walk around, you feel like you've entered another world. It's quite tranquil, and so lovely. Their flowers are amazing, and I'd love to take some of their horticulture classes. Come to La Canada!
