This city is south of Riverside CA and has approx. 15,000 population.

I am not putting it down but it is in the middle of nowhere and darker than you can believe (no street lights.)

It's been raining in So Calif and I got on a road that wasn't paved and got stuck for over 3 hours.  I didn't see the condition of the road until it was too late and got stuck with no hopes of getting out without the help of AAA.

The borrowers should have told me when I confirmed the appt. but they didn't.

They did help me get pulled out by AAA when they showed the driver a way to "back in  and hook me up."

I am just whining because the rest of the U.S. would probably say "get a life and figure out road conditions before leave my office."

Yes, I am spoiled because I live in So Calif and yes, I probably couldn't make it anywhere else! Duh!

Sorry to hear that, Joan. I've never even heard of that town. I'm glad you "finally" got unstuck.

Joan,

Do not fret, I feel your pain...I have seen my fair share of nightmares.  I do feel it is the client's obligation to inform the visitor of conditions that may be hazardous, simply because they live there and know their environment better than you.  Unfortunately, many people fail to think of others in their time of need.  They just want service and service now!

I have made it policy that I will no longer travel in inclement weather, may it be rain, snow, etc.  I will travel out in light rain, however, you can forget it is the extreme rain storm.

I am happy that you made it home safely.

Cheryl I will put you on speed dial if I ever go to Nuevo again.

One thing I forgot to explain in the post was how very  nice the AAA  towing man was who, when AAA declined to help me and told me to wait until the road dried out and then I could get my car unstuck, which would have been at least 2 weeks.

The AAA driver stayed with the borrowers & me and the borrowers convinced him to follow them to a reverse route and come in and get me out of the mud.

When I finally got to dry ground I literally chased the AAA guy down, because he was taking off  and I asked him how much I owed.

He said there was no charge as AAA had declined to send a "Big Truck" to help me. He said you don't owe me anything.

I had $60 in my wallet and I said buy something for your kids/ family and I wouldn't stop until he took the money".

People in Nuevo Ca are very nice people!!
