It seems like lately I've been bombarded with telemarketing calls on marketing items for advertising myself. I was wondering if any of you have tried supermarket branding on the shopping carts. I was recently approached by a marketer for this service. Have you purchased advertising on supermarket carts and if so how did this work out for you? I only know of a couple agents in my area who do this but is the payoff worth it or not? Just thought I'd ask you how your campaign worked out if you tried it.

I'll advertise on shopping carts when the home buying consumer goes to the grocery store to get information about real estate.

No...haven't done that and probably won't....depends upon how well known you are in the community....if a store is particularly popular in your area...can't say it will get you a buyer or seller but it will help build your identity awareness in the market.

I haven't done it but I know others agents who have given it a try. I agree with Sally & David it could build name recognition if you are new in the business. I talked to an agent who had done this and she said she felt her advertising dollars were better spent on the Internet.

Does this marketing expert have the stats on this? How many trips to the supermarket before one buys a house from you? No, I have not and would not spend money on this.

Sally & David - Hymm it does make an agent think for a minute. :)

Dorie - Thanks for that ... it would be interesting to get more agents who actually done this to mention how it worked... sounds like she didn't get much "bang for her buck" which is what I had a gut feeling about. I agree with Sally and David as well that it does give branding for your name.

Hi Gary - Actually I was unable to get stats ...I just didn't even really pursue it much (I figured I would ask around on here for the "real information" :) Thanks Gary... It sounds like that is the conclusion about these shopping carts for the most part.

Now if we could only find a way to have a Battery operating computer system attached to the cart with homes for sale to view while they drive the shopping cart around :) Lol Wishful thinking!
