Ever wanted to use a snowflake in your blog or as a graphic anywhere from your computer?  These snowflakes are all made online, for free at this site. Make a snowflake

Be careful because like Active Rain...making snowflakes can also be addictive! When I first arrived there, I didn't understand how to use it, but you need to take the scissors (the middle will turn green for cutting) and cut out whatever you like. You can view it, cut some more and then save it in your desired format.

Go have some fun!   and check out the flakes made by others before you.

Karen, learning to manuever the scissors is a bit tricky at first.  I enjoyed playing with the virtual paper and scissors. . .And oh yes, it's a lot less mess!  Here's what I did.snowflakeMerry Christmas!

I blogged about it on ColumbusBestBlog.com this AM.  We do not have snow in Columbus.  We will get snow today? Mixed with rain?  And then it is going to be warmer the next couple of days. It will not be a White Christmas in Columbus this year.

The snowflake I made is not as delecate as yours Karen.  I am not good with virtual scissors.

If I may add a link to a Flake?

On Twitter @MichelleDe  Twitpic'ed a flake which I see odd things in.   disturbing things.  If Michelle's snow flake was a Rorschach inkblot test what do you see?

two headed cats... or maybe just two cats with their heads together.  We both had cats.   Or they may be elephants.  See the trunks?

Devils?

Umbrellas?

Gee, that's really scarey -- not the snowflake -- that I saw the same thing Karen did (and I didn't see her  answer before looking).

Now, I'm going to make snowflakes. :)

What will they think of next - I love making snowflakes - the fun is opening it when you are done as you never know how it is going to turn out.  I was going along pretty good and then I couldn't get the scissors to cut any more.  I had to stop before I became too addicted.  Thanks.

The snowflake graphics look like fun Karen. The natural forms are wonderful and emulating them is fascinating. This is a mere tiny frozen water crystal formation through a microscope lens...

Okay Karen....I tried it and didn't get it...I'll have to experiment more. Fun to play with I'm sure since we don't have snowflakes here. ;-)

Deborah, That is beautiful!  The real thing is much prettier by far! And incredible that it is so tiny with such detail!

Teri, Well it takes a moment to get it and you are lucky you don't have snowflakes there! I am getting tired of snowflakes:)

Lobsters in NE? Or trefoils?  I see a trefoil.  I can see it as an angel.

hmmm lots of angels and demons from my perspective...Tried finding a pentagram...

Trefoil can also be a Christian symbol.

Here is a wierd one  Starfish or froglegs

I just discovered that a trefoil is a Christian symbol a few years ago in a church in the Detroit area.  I wondered why some of the pews had trefoils so I went home and "Googled" what a trefoil symbolized.  I thought it meant something about France or something to do with a king...  or New Orleans.   I have a friend who is from Louisianna who has lots of trefoils on his patio

Karen, yes, I see where it could be Angels too -- but the first thing that came to my mind was either lobsters or crawfish.  Being a Louisiana girl, I said crawfish.  :)

Maureen, by trefoils do you also mean fleur de lis?  I have a lot of fleur de lis around my house.  I recently bought a beautiful print where the fleur de lis is the inspiration and the artist layered drawings of items related to Louisiana to the fleur de lis.  She has a series of these prints -- I love how she does it.

Karen, I wrote a post about the artwork -- you, being an artist, would find it interesting.

Ok, I'm going to try making another snowflake!!!   :)

It may be the fleur de lis that I see in the flake.
