Just days before Christmas, and I am snowed in. Vancouver BC Canada is known for its mild winters: grey skies, and rainy days. So, tell me, where did all this white stuff come from. Lots of it. LOTS. Funny group of people on the west coast. We do not have sidewalk snow removal shovels. Saw a neighbour out with a "dust pan" yesterday, scooping one tiny load at a time. With 11 inches on the ground, she is probably still there! Thankfully, my "dirt" shovel has a flat-edge. Even so, removing the white stuff was a chore.
As a kid, I lived in a snow-belt city. Had the tools, had the warm coat and gloves, and had appreciative old-folks who'd pay me to shovel their walk. This "being the adult-time" in my life, no payment. Shovel shovel; put out my hand. No one there to pay me!
AND, it keeps on falling. More snow on its way. Think I will just stay in and twitter. www.twitter.com/LISTED
Oh, BTW, "Yes, I did help the neighbour lady." She's really not still out there :-)
Hot chocolate, anybody.
