Marina State Beach - a Great Place to Walk (California)

This is one of my favorite beach walks. You can walk on and on forever, or so it seems. Once you are a few blocks from the parking lot you have the beach mostly to yourself - except for the flocks of birds. Dress warmly, in layers as this is a windy beach much of the time.

If you want an easier walk, you can stroll along the boardwalk. This is not a beach for swimming as it has strong rip currents and is very hazardous. The beach is at the foot of Reservation Rd. in Marina, Ca. The parking lot closes a half hour after sunset.

Hi Eileen, loved the Pictures, I live in Marina Del Rey and we have a beach very simmilar to this one. Have a great New Year.

Eileen as I sit here dealing with the chilly New England Winter the beach certainly looks awesome!

We don't have a beach in our back yard to take evening walks on... but we do have a very sandy 40 acre pasture. I guess we could close our eyes and imagine the sound of the waves! ;-)

My husband and I love to walk on the beach - he was raised on the Atlentic Ocean and really loves it, but arthritis has slowed him down, Karen
