I have a MySpace account, I couldn't even tell you what my log in and password is (ok hackers, I'm not asking for help here) - I never bothered putting together my profile, occassionally I'd get emails telling me someone wanted to add me as a "friend". I read various articles (trade articles) suggesting a MySpace presence for REALTORS is a great way to target the next generation buyer and the info fell on deaf ears. Lately, I find myself addicted to AR (and I've read a lot of you apparently have the same problem) so I started to ponder on the following:
- Am I fiercely competitive? Is it the point accumulation that motivates me at 5am or in some cases on nights when I find myself burning the midnight oil, trying to get at least one post in while my mind worn out from the day still seems to give me enough juice to pen some thoughts while the rest of my body craves the comfort of my down pillows and 800 thread count sheets!
- Is it a sense of obligation to the fellow members? Yep, I feel that if you are going to be a member of this awesome network where we get to meet some amazing colleagues and absorb the rich diversity of information both real estate related and otherwise that I fear will soon rival the library of congress! (ok an exaggeration, but you get my point) then you have to give back to the community some of your own brain food as well.
- Am I a Real Estate geek? Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm a REAL ESTATE Geek/freak/nut! I love Real Estate and I make no bones about it. So, is it that, must be, I'm consumed fellow Rainers...
- Is it the google ranking? Perhaps...
- Is it my love for writing? After all I've been blogging well before I got introduced to AR.
Truthfully, I have not come to a final answer. Maybe it's a combination of all of the above. MySpace beware...AR is the new MySpace...come on fellow Rainers let's make this statement valid (any love birds want to share some "we met at AR and now we're in Love stories") BTW, to the folks at the helm...you know how MySpace allows you to upload music on their music player, how about an AR Version for video tours of listings?
As always...your comments are welcome...for those of you who know me, feel free to take the liberty to suggest what you feel is the answer to my pondering question.
Cheers,
