Here is a list of the top 10 New Years Resolutions and some of my favorite post that I thought were very helpful in achieving ones goals.

  1. Get Organized- I find that every time I straighten up and get organized it only takes a few days for the disorder to return. Here is a post by Lanre Folayan, Organize Your Home, that I find to be helpful.
  2. Give to Charity - With less coming in this year I am amazed at how much more people gave to help out others. Here is a post by Kelly Willey, Give to Children's Charity While Searching the Web. Way to go Kelly.
  3. Learn Something New - Of course this all makes sense to us. The more you learn the more you earn. Here is a post by Danielle Angeli Thomas, The Importance of Continuing Education.
  4. Get Out Of Debt- I think this is the real American Dream. Here is a post by Fran Gatti, Get out of debt in 2008.
  5. Enjoy Life- The more we enjoy our life the happier and healthier we will be. Here is a post by Marchel Peterson, If I had my life to live over I would burn the pink candle. Great post, Marchel.
  6. Stop Smoking - It is amazing how much longer you can prolong your life when you stop smoking. Here is a post by Jose Potts, Quit Smoking for your own good.
  7. Stop Drinking- For this one I am going outside the ActiveRain site and directing anyone who needs help with this one to www.aa.org
  8. Lose Weight - We have all seen the number of obese people rising in America. We have become more stationary and less active in our lives. Here is a post by Mindy Sylvester, Weight Lose Challenge is Back.
  9. Get Fit - All right this is my resolution for 2009, so I just joined ActiveRain Fit Club. Wish me luck.
  10. Spend Time With The Family - Last but not least, this is extremely important. Family first!!! With this one I am going to reference one of our post, Be Where You Are At.

Happy 2009 to all our ActiveRain Family out there.

Nannette: That's the one area that we have seriously slacked off in.  And now that we have a toddler to chase after, well, it's high time to get our butts back in gear!  And we will definitely need some accountability!

Jim and Maria, I am honored that you have included my post.  I'm surprised that you found it buried in archives.  I had just lost a wonderful neighbor to cancer when I wrote that.  We just need to take each day that God gives us and make the most of it.

Thankfully many I don't have to deal with, but number 9 both myself and my husband are working on with a new exercise routine each morning.

I think we can ALL find some way to get MORE Organized.  I know my office and the other top agents in my office certainly look like tornados hit them on most days, esepecially in the spring.  Now is the time to get organized when we have a few weeks to breathe...
