This is for those of you who, like me, have suffered a loss in your life. Maybe your loss was years ago, and you still feel sad during this 'Season of Joy'. For me, it was to be my only child. I lost him on December 14, 1999. A close friend of mine lost her father-in-law suddenly about 2 weeks ago. And this week, our County Manager's mother-in-law passed away from a sudden illness.  My dear friend and 'partner in crime', Julie,  is feeling a tremendous loss this year without her mother, who passed away earlier this year. I hope this blesses your heart, as it has mine.

                       My first Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees, around the world.

With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away your tears.

For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear.

But the sounds of music can't compare with the

Christmas choir up here.

I have no words to tell you,  the joy their voices bring.

For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart.

But I am not so far way, we really aren't apart.

So be happy for me dear ones, you know I hold you dear.

And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.

I sent you each a memory of my undying love.

After all, love is a gift more precious than gold.

Love was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other like my father said to do.

I can't count the blessings of love He has for each of you.

So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away those tears,

Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I always think about people who have had losses at this time of year and wonder how they cope.  I friend just lost his wife two weeks ago.  I pray for him and all of you to be strong and try to find the beauty in the season.  God Bless.

I spent my afternoon driving around delivering calendars...I saw a friend/loan officer who just lost her mom earlier this month, and the moms birthday is Cmas eve, so she was teary eyed...

I spoke with a friend that used to be connnected through a relationship that is no longer, this was sad. I could only think of the "could have beens", the wedding plans that won't come true, the graduations that "the other family" now will be absent from...all the lost dreams of our two families..

Then I spoke with a seller who is selling a house for a daughter who passed last year, she had just visited the cemetary and visited that daughter  and another daughter who died on Cmas eve years ago as a child with the croop....

Lets just say there were tears between those calendars today...I kept thinking about the MANY people that are sad this season....I am going to send the above poem to my friend/loan officer, and hope it helps some....

Oh, Kimberly!

I am SO sorry. I cannot imagine the pain you have experienced in losing your son...and so close to Christmas, too.  I don't think we will ever stop missing our loved ones once they are gone.  Thank you for the beautiful poem. It is a reminder that there is so much more to look forward to if we know Jesus!!

I wish you a very Merry Christmas. Keep smiling like you do in your picture...a beautiful smile!! :)

Kimberly - brought tears to my eyes - I can't even finish reading your post. I lost my parents when I was 18 - 20 yrs ago. And it's still difficult at Christmas time. ~Rita

Kimberly, beautiful poem!  We burried my Grandmother some 36 years ago today.  Darcy, my wife, underwent surgery today, so my grandmother was present in my thoughts today.  Although it was a long time ago, and I was just a boy, I still remember the sadness that an event like that has on a person.  Everyone goes through it differently, just know that you're not alone!

Thank you for the poem - I just lost my cat of 16 years on Christmas Eve and we keep telling my 5 year old he is in heaven - my son asked me if God will feed him - I said yes and he gets all the G's (gravies) he wants - so many things remind me of him - I know it only time.  Thanks for sharing.

Also, where do you get yhour pict for blogs?  I am looking for a FREE website that I can search for pics.
