Well we finally made it! Two months ago this was a feat we could not imagine. Our tradition is spend Christmas Eve with the in-laws. We have heavy hors deauvres and then play dirty santa. Then at 9 pm we go to our church and have a Silent Lord's Supper.
The church is lit only by candlelight and piano music playing Christmas music. It is really beautiful and since no one speaks it is a great time to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for this year. When we leave there we come home and open gifts between the three of us. My husband daughter and myself. Then it is off to bed and waiting for Santa.
On Christmas morning we wake up and open our stockings. Have a simple breakfast and prepare to head to my parent's! There we open gifts and then have the most fabulous Christmas Dinner prepared by my parents. After all is said and done, we are ready to come home and nap the afternoon away and then meet up with friends for Christmas Evening.
This year is different, we are enjoying each other's company more than anything else. Jesus is the Reason for the Season. What are your traditions?

Merry Christmas, Valerie. It sounds you have a wonderfully, meaningful couple of days planned. Sounds really nice.
We had Christmas dinner last Saturday at our house because our son and his family were here from out of town. We think they brought a tummy virus in with them, because several of us got sick. But never fear, our son wants to have his Christmas brunch tomorrow morning, and his in-laws will have us all over Christmas night.
I think of friends who have lost mates, children & parents this year, and wish them peace and joy this holiday season, in spite of their circumstances.
