Could you imagine if Starbucks marketed like the Church does? I love Christmas because it always gives us a chance to start over. This time of year people begin to return to churches across America. Christmas and Easter are the two biggest attended services throughout the year. What if a church was more relaxed, like a Starbucks. It is easy to understand why people keep going back to Starbucks and may take a pass on returning to Church.

I came across this funny video on YouTube. I am so impressed with the people who created this and the other videos. Beware, once you look at one, you will be hooked. I know I was. Merry Christmas!

"Church" in America has lost its meaning.  Iglesia is the greekword for the "called out".  The church is a group of called people.  We're not a building or a worship service.  If the relationships don't exist, there is no church.

So you're analogy of a Starbucks is actually quite accurate, from a biblical standpoint.

The first church met in peoples' homes.  They practiced hospitality.  They shared.

Merry Christmas, and I hope everyone will heed the call this season.  Open our hearts and our homes.  And you will be in a "church".

As someone who drinks more than his share of coffee...I can say I'm hooked! I'm sending this to my daughter who is a barista in a local coffee shop here in Little Falls!

Wow that is funny.  It was so accurate, with the doors not opening and the bumper stickers.  Merry Christmas!

Well, I do not quite like the way the Coffee workers do but I like the idea that this video is created. Pretty inspiring.

Sal - not 100% sure where the video was going, but wow does it bring up so many thoughts about how religions/churches touch people (or don't) right where they are at. The bumper stickers, lingo, and all the "jazz" religious people exibit is often useless, even hurtful, especially when a real relationship and a "real religion", one of love and care would speak volumes more than anyhing said.

Mike - Love your comment

Hi Steve,

I agree with you. I thought the video was well done. It is interesting how every community that we are a part of has its own "lingo". Ask a non realtor what a "fsbo" is and they probably won't know.
