For everyone celebrating Christmas, this is a wonderful day to get together with family and friends, to exchange gifts and to share a festive meal.  For those of us who don't celebrate the holiday, Christmas Day can feel like the longest day of the year.  Here is a list of things to do, to get through the day.

This is an interactive top ten list, I've started it off with the first 5.  Please add your suggestions to complete the list.

1. Go out for Chinese food.  They're the only restaurants open.

2. Plop down in front of the TV and watch a marathon of old movies. Don't forget the popcorn.

3. Challenge the family to a Monopoly game day.  See how long you can keep the game going.

4. Go out to the movies.  Maybe even catch a "double flick."

5. Spend the day blogging.  Save your posts in draft mode and release them throughout the week.

Settle in for a long winters nap!!  We had our Christmas dinner yesterday because my youngest has to spend the afternoon with his father.  So, we're all going out for Chinese after I drop him off.

Are they really open ( Chinese), I didn't know that. We sat around with family, their guest and friends that will stop by and share stories from Christmas past, seems like a 100 years of stories. Then we all thank God for the greatest gift of all while telling of one thing that we are truly thankful for this year. I ask for the lord to teach me patience last year and he has truly come through, everyone has commented on how relaxed and patient I seem.

This year and I praying for our leaders and asking for the gift of tolerance. Look out 09 here I come.

Sit and watch "The Christmas Story" and recite all the words, since you watch it over and over each year.  At least we do!  Its a classic!

Debbie- This year, we couldn't get up the energy to go out to the movies, so we lit a fire, ate hors d'oeuvres and watched movies on TV.  I hope you had a good holiday and are looking forward to a wonderful new year.

James- LOL. Years ago, I was told if you want to find the Jewish neighborhood, look for the Chinese restaurant.  As for the Scottsdale residents, they're probably New York transplants.
