PAT PRESTON WANTS TO KNOW 14 MORE FACTS ABOUT KRISTIN JOHNSTON!

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Platinum

OK, Pat...this was really hard, and some are a bit lame, but here are 14 more facts about me...:-)  And certainly go to her blog to learn more about this interesting cat lovin lady (http://www.activerain.com/blogs/patpreston.

1.  My parents didn't know they were having twins (after having 4 already) until my mom went into labor and the doctor said, "Mary, keep pushing, you have another one on the wash line!"  No joke!  My father, who was not in the delivery room, had to go out and buy one more of everything! Can you imagine?

2. I admit to watching Days of Our Lives, although I will blame my mom, who started my twin and I on it in 6th Grade!!

3.  I will also admit to watching a good deal of celebrity TV!  My husband just rolls his eyes...

4.  I have read the occasional gossip magazine...boy, I am sounding quite immature, better change my tune.

5.  I have been speaking Spanish since 6th grade (Better?)

6.  I have traveled and seen a great deal of Europe, much more than I have seen the states.

7.  I love to relax in Mexico...I honeymooned in Huatulco before it became well known, Cabo--both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, and the Riviera Maya....there is nothing like drinking Michiladas in the sun!

8.  I prefer all inclusive travling, and therefore, have never been to Hawaii (where that is not an option--wonder why???)

9.  I'm only on 9??? Geez....I was the top producer at my previous career, as both an Account Executive and Sales Manager at New Resources Corporation, an information management consulting firm.

10.  I have worked out every day of the week since 2000.  I work out in my own home gym, nothing fancy, just a room in my basement!

11.  Each Christmas, my husband and I do the 12 days of Christmas, where we give one gift each day starting on the 12th of December....they are not all big/expensive gifts, in fact, a recurring joke is that I get a Suet Ball for the outside critters!

12.  I love being at home...there is truly no place like home!  I am happiest at the end of a long day whe I have my hubby and my 3 cats all in bed with me!

13.  I volunteer at HAWS (Humane Animal Welfare Society) in Waukesha, where I am a "cat socializer".

14.  I love Manhattan!!

Whew!  That was hard....I am sure you know more than you want to know about me now!

Good morning my friend-In a word that was EXCELLENT. See now that wasn't so hard. You done good my dear girl. See isn't it fun making up your own rules. 14 more things HUH I must of forgot(ha,ha) I asked you that. I thought it was only 7. I did 14 links to my past posts only because if I ever get hit again by the next wave(which there will be again at some point) then I'll simply put the link to that post. Easy, yet answers all questions anybody wants to know. I learned a little more about my new buddy. Very nice and smart young lady. Several people actually choose not to tag anybody when they are in full swing as one friend of mine got hit 7 times once. Think 49 facts about Kristen. LOL

I like your #11. I think I'll have to try that. #10 Very impressive. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!

#12-That is my fav place as well.  13. Woman after my own heart.  I loved the newest post with the kitty.  Keep up the great job with your posts. You are doing terrific. Hope your Christmas was great and your New Year will be filled with many wonderful new and exciting things.

Hi Kristen-The more you are here the more you'll see that people here talk about everything so you are fitting in just perfect. You just have to think this. Our job is real estate but it's not who we are. The other stuff like what you share is about real life stuff and that is what people really enjoy reading about. There is a lot of education no doubt but the best part of AR is the friendships you build. In a word PRICELESS! Happy New Year my friend. :-)

Hi Kristin, I figured as a cat person you and I would have a lot in common.  Then I read that you watch Days of Our Lives.  I have to confess that I too am hooked on it.  I have it automatically recorded in case I miss it and even let the recorder run while I'm watching it if I'm home for lunch, because inevitably my cell phone will ring and I'll miss half of it anyway and have to watch the recorded version.  I don't know how I got hooked, but although my husband used to roll his eyes at my addiction, he sometimes watches it with me, and I always have to bring him up to date on what has gone on since he last saw it.  It is addictive in spite of how guilty I feel about it.  Glad to meet a fellow fan.  I can miss anything else, and really don't spend much time watching TV but I always feel bad if I miss DOOL. ;-)

Susan, it sure does sound like we are from the same mold!!  I am the say way with taping DOOL!!  Too funny, but it is good to hear someone else admit to it too :-)  My mom started my twin and I on it in 6th Grade!!! I think it was her "break" from us LOL.  My husband, like yours, gets the gist of it too..I always have to laugh when he comes in the room and I am fast forwarding through so much of it, complaining how dumb this person or story line is.  He said, why do you watch it then?  I say, it is tradition and it is hard to get rid of a guilty pleasure, right?  He calls Hope FUNNYFACE instead of Fancyface, says Sami always is crying, and EJs pants are too tight.  Ahh, men.  Nice to chat and I look forward to more!  How many cats do you have by the way?

We have 4 cats that are "ours" (or they own us), but we have also been adopted by several others.  For a little over a year we have been feeding a feral cat on our back step 2-3 times a day.  He shows up every morning at about 6 am, and for the last couple of months he has finally decided that I can pet him.  I don't think anyone had ever pet him before.  Now he comes by just to be petted, even when he isn't hungry.  I have never picked him up - he's still too skittish for that - and he has no interest in coming in the house.  He was a scroungy mess when we first started feeding him, but now he's gorgeous.  Also, a lady up the street died and her family cleared out her house and left her two cats on their own.  They are adorable and were starving, but heard through the grapevine that our house had free food, so we feed them too.  They are lover kitties and love to be held and fussed over.  Two more young kitties showed up this morning acting like they were starving, but so far I've resisted feeding them. We aren't quite sure how long we can keep this up because we also feed the birds, possums, squirrels, raccoons and skunks that frequent our backyard, and our cat and critter food budget is higher than ours!  There is just no way we can say no to any of them.  I guess we'll continue to be the neighborhood cafeteria!

Susan...I just want to start by saying THANK YOU!  For all that you do for the animals, and especially the cats!  Hopefully the feral cat will one day be an indoor one!  It angers me so much to hear about people simply abandoning their pets like the lady down your street! I think they should prosecuted!  Did you take the cats indoors, since they were indoor cats, or at least trap them and take them to your humane society?  I trapped a "feral" cat in October, and found a great home for him.  Turns out he was not feral after all, so you just never know!  Can you trap the kittens and take them to the shelter too?  Sorry for the preaching, it is just such a passion of mine.  I hate to think of any cat outside...the statistics are simply horrifying!  Keep me informed, OK?  I look forward to it!

HI Kristin, I've seen to it that they have shelter (our pump house and an unused doghouse), and I am working on socializing them with our other cats so they can come inside.  I'm making a little progress.  Update:  one of the new younger ones has decided to live in our garage.  I have made a bed in there for him and put food and water there, and there is a cat door into the house whenever he feels brave enough.  I figured I might as well, since he had decided to take up residence there anyway, and he was curling up on the cement floor and showed no interest in leaving.

Susan, you are the greatest!!!  I am so glad to hear you are trying to get the outter cats inside...I know it might be hard for the feral case, but I appreciate you never giving up!  You are doing the right thing, so keep it up and keep me informed. I love our exchanges!!!
