Take The Light Rail Tour for Mesa and Phoenix, Arizona Here!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Homes Arizona Real Estate LLC

Tomorrow, the new light rail transit will start the festivities in Mesa, Tempe and Phoenix, Arizona! We will be jumping on board tomorrow - we can all ride free through December 31, 2008! - and partake in the festivities at each of the eight stops. I will have my camera in two, of course. ;-)

Spanning 20 miles, this is truly something wonderful for the Phoenix Valley. Check out the links below to read where the stops are, prices, times, etc. I've included the video tour as well.

6 Valley Metro stations to host opening parties

All Aboard - Light Rail Ready to Change the Valley

This will definitely be something to watch. Plans are already in the works for access to the west side of the Phoenix Valley via the light rail. We really do need transportation like this and the Express Buses to get around the valley.

Hi Teri-That was cool. I bet it is really a fun trip. I saw the temple of lights blog as well. Magificent. I hope you had a good Christmas. Happy New Year to you and yours.  It has been fun getting to see Arizona thru your eyes. It has been great getting to know the lady in Red.   :-)

Hi Teri ~

This should make life easier around town on the Phoenix area. Pretty neat.

We've been trying to get light rail in Central Florida for years... No one can seem to agree on anything - That's AWESOME!  Phoenix is on the "Right Track"!

Teri--Looks like fun! So are the ones in Mesa/Phoenix as quiet as the ones in the Twin Cities? People are hit by them from time to time as they are so quiet that no one can hear them coming. Looking forward to seeing more pictures! :)

Hey Pat, it is cool....we're planning to take a test run tomorrow. Maybe go downtown for lunch. ;-) I'm glad to share Arizona. ;-)

Lynda, absolutely. We've needed this type of travel option forever. ;-)

Debbie, it does take years. It has here, and we've grown so quickly that the sprawl is amazing. This will help people want to be near the transportation. ;-)

Teri, I think, according to the video - they are very quiet. They travel WITH traffic and adhere to stop lights as should the traffic. Hopefully no one decides to run a red light with one of these babies coming down the track. ;-)

Teri, We now have light rail in Houston but it is going to be years and years before it makes it out to Spring.  That's great that it connects Mesa with Phoenix.

Marchel, it does take awhile for these types of transportation to be built, etc. I'll be great to park, jump on the light rail and go downtown for lunch. ;-)

Bill, thank you.....;-

TERI, I'm envious if we had light rail I might go in to Houston.  I have only been in to the actual city a few times after living here 14 years.  One of those times was jury duty.  My husband and I got called up at similar times so I called and changed the dates so we could drive in together.  He told me no one ever got on a jury.  Well he didn't and I did.  He had to come pick me back up at 8:00 that evening.  I don't think we will be doing jury duty together again.  Next time I will just take the commuter bus.

Marchel, at least you do have the commuter bus. The option for transportation here has been pretty much a car - or a bus in some places. Little by little, we're getting to grow up into a big city. ;-)
