As many of you are aware, Mark has been noticeably absent from the Rain for the past several weeks. Many years ago, he was involved in a rather substantial auto accident that affected his neck. Every once in a while, this neck injury acts up, but it usually subsides in short order. A couple weeks ago, it flared up again, but this time, it lingered, and eventually became acutely painful. Mark went in for an MRI, but he was in such pain, he couldn't lie down long enough for the procedure. Finally, they were able to medicate him enough to do the MRI.
Yesterday, Mark went to see a specialist in Seattle. The Doctor took one look at the film and told Mark he would perform surgery THAT day. Evidently, had his condition continued, there was a good chance Mark would have been paralyzed!
So, Mark had surgery yesterday. Everything went fine. He is supposed to be released either today or tomorrow, and will be out convalescing for another 2 weeks.
I thought it would be really cool if everyone (and I mean EVERYONE!) would send him a "Get Well" card so when he gets back to his office, the mountain of love mail from the 'Rain' would be there to greet him.
