The Honolulu Board of REALTORS in conjunction with First Hawaiian Bank and the Honolulu Advertiser, announced their 2008 Hawaii Real Estate Awards at the Honolulu Board of REALTORS General Membership Meeting.
There were 2 categories of which real estate agents from Hawaii could be considered. The first award of the 2 categories is "REALTOR of the Year". That award was given to Shelly Campbell of RE/MAX Honolulu.
The second category was the Aloha 'Aina Peoples Choice Award. This award "honors members of the Honolulu Board of REALTORS who have gone above and beyond to help fulfill their client's real estate needs, while up-holding the REALTOR Code of Ethics and also while being actively involved with the Board of REALTORS as well as the community"says Karen Walker, returning Aloha Aina judge.
Currently, there are approximtely 6,700 members of the Honolulu Board of Realtors. Of those 6,700, the following 375 members were nominated by the general public. To be nominated, the REALTORS must have closed at least one transaction during the judging period and have been nominated by their client either as a buyer's agent or listing agent. The following is a list of the 375 nominees.
