Things to do in Lancaster, PA

By

I came accross something to do in Lancaster, PA that I hadn't heard about before...  You can take a hot air balloon ride over Lancaster County. The tours are run by the US Hot Air Balloon Team. You can board the hot air balloon in Bird in Hand and it goes over Intercourse, New Holland, Strasburg, Ephrata, and Reading.  There are views to the west and south of Susquehanna River, Harrisburg, York, and the start of the Chesapeake Bay.

You can book online or purchase gift certificates, wouldn't that be a great gift ?!  Prices are $199 per person for an actual flight time of about one hour.  They also offer rides through Chester, Bucks, Berks and Montgomery counties.  You can also do national and even international trips (can you imagine ballooning over the French or Italian countryside ??!!).  Check out their website at www.balloonridesdaily.com

Here is an excerpt from their website:

"Come aboard your hot air balloon to begin your day as the sun rises over the beautiful quilt patterned farmland. View the morning awakening of this unique community as they prepare their horses to work the fields and each family member attends to their chores. With horses racing beneath your hot air balloon and children chasing you barefoot in the fields you can’t help but smell the sweet aroma of Lancaster county’s fresh air. As your balloon ride comes to an end, prepare to meet many of the farmers as they run to help with the landing of your hot air balloon. Enjoy this timeless wonder from a divine view of a hot air balloon. Amish country is spectacular from a hot air balloon in every season."

That would give a unique perspective.  Not sure if I could handle it though.  I'm not a big fan of flying.
