The last guest is gone, a good time was had by all.  We had a wonderful Christmas  and can truly say this will be a year we will never forget.

A month ago I wondered how we would make it through this holiday season.  It was very different this year but may have been our best ever.  This year we just enjoyed each other's company.  We reflected on the blessings we have been given and prayed for those less fortunate.  We realized the true meaning of this very special Christmas Day in a way we had never truly experienced.

2008 has been an unbelievable year and I for one will be glad to usher this one out.  I am also thankful for the very special gifts I have received and it took a terrible year to show me the light.  Thank you Lord for getting me back to the place I always knew!  How was your Christmas and were there any changes this year?

My Christmas was spent on the couch watching TV. Nothing special this year.

Were there any changes this year? Well, other than my real estate business almost coming to a screeching halt.....nah!!

Indeed, I will welcome the New Year at one of my MOST favorite places...Pensacola Beach Florida.

I see a blog coming that morning!

We had a real great holiday.  Friends food and red wine, what else do you need?

Sometimes it takes getting to a low point in our lives to remind us of just how thankful we should be of all the blessings in our lives.  I'm glad you got to that point!

Hi Valerie Chritmas has always been a blessing to me  for many reasons. To be able to share and spend time with family to celebrate Christmas ..it means everything.  It is a little sad to realize that people you love and have shared Christmas with for the many past Christmas's are no longer here.  but...you also can not deny the joy they now share with the Lord.

Sometimes hardships cause us to get down to the basics....a lot of worldly importance really doens't seem to amount to that much value..and the true meaning of what Christmas is really all about.  What better gift could we ask for?

Thanks for the comment on my post.  HAppy New Year

Valerie, yes it was different.  The kids are grown, so less presents, but more quality time with family and friends (extended family).  Also the 1st time we went to a Christmas Eve service, it was wonderful!

Our Christmas was great...I put the Real Estate out of mind (sort of) and celebrated the season.  Now it's time to get down to business!

Hey, Valerie.

I'm confused by these three sections:

  1. ....can truly say this will be a year we will never forget.
  2. It was very different this year but may have been our best ever.
  3. 2008 has been an unbelievable year

They seem to contradict these two sections:

  1. ....I for one will be glad to usher this one out.
  2. ....it took a terrible year to show me the light.

I know I've taken things out of context -- hey, if they can do it for the news soundbites, why not me? LOL -- but your post was very short yet what seemed to be up in one sentence, down in the next, up in the next -- a veritable roller coaster.

Anyway, glad you had a Merry Christmas. Best wishes for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity in 2009.
