My Favorite Staging Transformation of 2008

By
Home Stager with Creative Home Expressions

The end of the year is a good time to reflect on many things in our business.  Kathy Nielsen has posted a fun one asking for our favorite transformations of 2008.

I have to say that my favorite project was the "million dollar vacant" I did in September.  While I enjoyed doing the whole first floor, here is one room that I just loved the way it turned out:

Sharon ~ Thanks very much!  This was only the second time I used a professional photographer and I realize that I will have to show her my "before" shots so I can get the same angle in the future.

Lisa ~ Thank you!  This house was not only empty, but the walls were all white.  I tried to bring in some color with the furniture and accessories.

Elizabeth ~ Thank you!  It is quite large and a very open area!  You can basically see this family room from the living room, the entry, the dining room and the eating area in the kitchen.

I remember this one too Kathy!  I love it just as much seeing it the second time.  Great work!  Continued success in the coming year!

Has the house sold yet?

Staging makes a huge difference; the difference here is enormous.

But in this market I'm wondering if a huge difference is going to be enough?

Mara ~ Thanks very much!  When I first saw the pictures of this house, I knew a lot of the items I wanted to bring in.  I was really glad when they worked in reality!

Jason ~ From what I understand, this house was also vacant for some time (almost 2 years) before they decided to try staging it.

Diane ~ Thank you!

Jim ~ As of 2 weeks ago, I did not hear that it sold.  I did hear that they were negotiating with a few interested parties.  I would have more to add to this comment, but since it is a public post I won't. : )

Charlene ~ Well, thank you for both comments!

Jonathan ~ Thank you!  I think it's great that you have added this for your listings.

You did beyond an amazing job Kathy, it hits you immediately upon looking on the picture.  It enhances the space tremendously.  You are very talented and creative, and your eye for style, color and coordination is impeccable.

This room looks great Kathy!  I love the layout of the furniture.  The furniture really warmed up a cold space. Nice job!

Cynthia ~ Thanks!  This was a wonderful room to work with and is pretty central in this house - many traffic patterns!
