How to use google docs to create an automatically published Marketing Report for your clients! :)

Ok, so i was just finishing my last post and saving it into google docs when this brilliant idea (i think) occurred to me.

By using the "publish"feature on google docs, you can create a Marketing Report for your clients that automatically changes every time that you make a "weekly" update to it.

So the steps involved would be:

Create a google account at gmail.google.com if you don't have one.

Make a Marketing Report in Google Docs.

Click on "Publish" to generate a unique URL where your clients can review their marketing report for their property.

Send an e-mail to your clients explaining how they can check that URL every say Sunday for their weekly Home Marketing Report update

Update your marketing report weekly to ensure your clients  have up to date info of what you are doing.

The report could be divided into the following sections:

  • Online Marketing
  • Offline Marketing
  • Open House Marketing
  • Networking

Each section would be subdivided by weeks and would have weekly comments on new developments etc.

What other things could be put into the marketing report?

I think I'm going to do a flash tutorial on how to do a marketing report using google docs -

Of-course i did mention it was free right? google docs is freeeeeeeeeee : )

Hi Bruno - this sounds like a really interesting idea.  I'm not versed in Google Docs, but have certainly read about them here on AR.  Will check this out!

Thanks,
Ann

That's a great thought on how to use google docs. An excellent way for people who don't know how to build web pages etc to offer information to their clients online and that the agent can update themselves without having to pay money for a web developer updates..

Great information! I am always wanting to expand the online technology that I can offer my clients. This sounds great. Plus I've been wanting to check out a gmail account. My broker swears by it for organization. Thanks for the push!

Thank you for this information.  I just joined the gmail base and now I plan to use the features.  Thanks for the heads up.  Got anymore?

I put together our website and I am not sure how it would rank among those that know how to create websites, but I am pretty proud of it.  Any new tips, I welcome.

Hey Bruno - Thats a really neat idea. I wonder if you would mind sending me a copy of that tutorial. I could probably figure it out eventually, but it would take three times as long. - Thanks from Halifax
