The retail Christmas season is winding down, and, from all appearances, sales are going to less than spectacular. There are signs that everyone up and down the chain, from camera manufacturers to retail outlets are going to be sitting on a lot of excess inventory and will be proceeding very aggressively to move product before the next generation of cameras and lenses are introduced at the late winter trade shows. If you are in the market for photography equipment (camera bodies, lenses, tripods, etc) now may be the time to step up and make that purchase. There are some real deals out there.
