Part 3 - Find people to follow that can help you and your business
PART 4
Followers
They (people) are following you. How do they find you? There are several ways people find you.
1. They see your tweet
Your "regular" tweet or update
Your automatic update via ActiveRain
Your reply to somebody they are already following
- they click on your photo or your @username and if they like what the see - they click to follow
2. They do a search
You/your tweets can come up in variety of searches. Any words that you use on your tweet become searchable, e.g. you tweet - it's cold in Denver - somebody does a search for the word "Denver" - your tweet shows up. (Note. see part 3 for searching twitter)
or somebody searches by location (see part 3 - Twellowhood) - If you have your Location: Denver, CO - you will show up
or search for realtor or other keywords
- they click on your photo or @username and become followers
3. From links you have created elsewhere
Of course one of the places can be from Activerain blog.
link on your website, business card etc.
Or if you visit Castellum Realty's post - you will see A LOT of twitter users and their links.
I went through the list and clicked to follow those that I wasn't already following.
4. From Everyone Button
Just a few days ago I discovered this button - thanks to Jason Crouch (of course). This is where you see every tweet. It will be an eye opening experience.
Here anyone can see your tweet and they can click to see what you are about and choose to follow you that way.
Notes
Sometimes you get spammer followers. How do you know? A person is following 3218 people, yet only have 16 followers. Plus you can see what they tweet about. I do not follow back. You decide who you want to follow. You can also block people if they become a pain!
I am sure there are many more ways people can find you and follow you. These are just a few examples.
If you are getting overwhelmed by @iamfollowing you e-mails I will cover in Part 5 how to deal with that.
Coming soon! Part ? Make the most out of your Twitter background
