Thinking of selling your home in 2009? In addition to staging, make sure your house looks and smells fresh. Here are just a few tips:
-If you are too busy to clean your home or feel the job is too big for you, hire a professional house cleaner.
-Have a friend (or realtor) walk thru for a sniff test and give you an honest answer, especially if you have pets or are a smoker.
-Have your carpets professionally cleaned.
-Bathrooms should be pristine. Replace dingy grout, replace cracked or missing tile and replace outdated fixtures. Buy a new shower curtain and a few pretty towels.
-Look at the outside of your house with a critical eye. First impressions are important; a buyer may not even want to look inside your house if the exterior doesn't look nice. Replace or repaint the front door, power wash the sidewalks & driveway, power wash or repaint the house. Trim trees & bushes, plant new flowers, buy new mulch.
