Virginia:  I was trying to come up with some sort of "tongue in cheek" humor in naming the photo... but I don't think that will work all that well with this one.  Take care... and have a Great New Year !

Virginia - "A lollipop was OK. Let's check the cracker"

A funny photo, and what a long tongue. And a black one.

Nyah nyah nyah! They're looking at me, and not at you!

"In case you were wondering, yes, we giraffes have tongues in proportion to our neck and height!  Care to get closer for a wet kiss and to discover how affectionate we can be ?"

Virginia- One of my favorite things to do is to go to our Lion Country Safari, just 10 minutes from our house and feed the giraffes! I love feeding them!

That's a great pic Virginia. The Giraffe obviously sees something he likes.

How about naming it "kisses"?  What a great photo and your timing was perfect!

Years ago we saw a giraffe at a zoo reaching for something with it's tongue.  I couldn't believe how long it was.  It was several feet long...just amazing.

"Hey baby, how about a little kiss" - I don't know why, but that is just what it looks like to me.

Karen - I had that in mind and just couldn't come up with a cute title.

Jon - Yes, the giraffe looks a little inquisitive about the cracker.  :)

Pacita - ROTFL!

Gerry - Like it, the giraffe looks affectionate, alright!

Katerina - I have been to many zoos, I guess I never fed a giraffe, I had no idea about their tongues.

Eunice - Yes, they are so beautiful, but I had never seen one so close!

Sally and David - The pic looks like it would be able to swallow her whole head!

Debra - Funny, I almost named it 'French Kiss.'

Sharon - This was my daughter's first giraffe tongue experience, as you can see from her face...

Todd - I think you may have the perfect title!

Virginia-The name that comes to my mind is, "OH COME ON, JUST ONE LITTLE KISS".  I love the photo, it brought a smile. Thanks for sharing it and joining Happy.  Happy New Year

Hi Laura, the Happy group is a great idea, thank you!

Good title, I thought of, 'not on the first date'.  :)

I love giraffes Virginia! They are so elegant and so different with their long necks - long reach with that tongue! I've wondered what a sore throat would feel like with a neck that long.

Name? 'Long-ing '

Deborah - 'Long-ing' - good idea!  Yes, a 4 foot sore throat would be terrible - :)

Hope - EEEWWW is an excellent name and I just spell checked it - wow, long list of suggestions!

Charles - that describes it to a 'T'.  That giraffe is going to have a terrible reputation!

Danny - ...and a very experienced one!

How about "lick at me"

There is a wildlife park in Camp Verde Arizona where they take you on a bus with wildlife running free. They give everyone a vegetable when you get on the bus to feed the giraffes. The bus driver puts it in her mouth and lets the giraffe eat it out of her mouth. Then they encourage people on the bus to do so as well. I almost did however chose to just hold it out.

Johnathan - 'Hey, lick at me!' might be the new title - thanks.

I would love to take that bus, but I wouldn't be feeding the giraffes that directly.  I'm a big chicken.

I got locked in the snake house at the Sacramento Zoo once, but it was only for a few minutes, I got to the back exit before they locked that door - now that was creepy!

Debra - I forgot to mention to my daughter that I posted this pic - I should ask her what to name it.  These name suggestions are delightful, aren't they?  I think I am going with Johnathan's name.  I should have had a private contest - but what would the prize be, a trip to your local zoo?

Virginia,

The commentary is as good as the photo!  I wonder how the French came to be associated with kisses...
