I'm sure you are wondering?

I'm sure some of  you have been wondering what happened to me. Last week on Sunday I had tweeted I was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. I had it for two days, was not able to walk and all.

So here is what happen. I went in around 9 am with such bad pain that the ER doctor couldn't even exam me. Within the hour I had an x-ray, ultrasound, and CT done. Which in a ER is very fast! Came back from all the test and the doctor tried again and I couldn't take it. He then admitted me. Started me on pain meds and antibiotics.

Several doctors were consulted. GYN, Surgery, GI, Infectious Disease, and  a Primary. All trying to figure out what was wrong. On Monday I was being told I would have to have surgery. But by Tuesday morning when I was going to have it, the doctor tells me he doesn't think it has anything to do with my female productive parts. That I need to have a colonoscopy. So surgery was canceled and GI was called again. They also agreed that I need it but it wasn't going to be done till after Christmas. I told them if that was the case then please send me home. I don't want to miss Christmas with my kids.

Now I was to call Midori before I was to go into suregery and hadn't gotten around to it. She was about to go postal on me! She was going to post here on the network when she finally got the call from me!

So I was discharged and now I need to have my procedure done after the New Year. So when that is done I will update you then.

Thank You for all your wishes and concerns. Enjoy your Holidays!

I wouldn't put anything off. I have learned the hard way about things like that. Plus, I lost a childhood friend at the age of 40 to colon cancer. The doctor "blew it off" and by the time they realized what was going on, it was too late.

And now for a moment of oversharing...it's Sunday, and I'm prepping for my colonoscopy which is tomorrow. UGH

Jeannette, better to get whatever has to be done, done now.  I agree, better not to put off anything --- your health and well being are far too important for that.

Best of luck to you.

Mmmmm.  I had a lot of discomfort back in 1999 along with a slightly elevated temperature.  I went to emergency and the tests show a "hot appendix" and a "hot gall bladder".

Both appendix and gall bladder were gone by 8:00 p.m. Came home the next afternoon with some lovely pain pills.

Haven't had a moment of discomfort since and only used 3 pain pills.

The surgical techniques these days are phenomenal.

Good luck.  Hopefully you'll have a speedy recovery.

I'm hoping that they at least gave you some really good meds to hold off the pain you were in when you were admitted.  If there is something wrong, I hope that it is minor and that the procedure reveals everything.

Lenn ~ My appendix was taken out about 15 years ago, so they knew it wasn't that. But I hope it is something as simple and quick time for recovery right after. Thanks for the wishes!

That is frightening! To be in so much pain you can't even be examined??  I'm glad you're feeling alright now but will be less concerned once your procedure is scheduled and you go.  I always hate it when things get worse because people (my PARENTS!!!) don't deal with them right away so I'm a little sensitive in this area.

I'm so glad you got to spend Christmas with your family - that's so important, especially when they are so little like yours.
