The subtitle of this book is "My Year of Learning to Live Better with Less".  Each month, the author chooses to give up something ranging from her cell phone to multitasking.  We learn what she finds essential to what can be pared down to what can be almost completely gotten rid of.  We should all think about those things that to cut out for a month and then try it.

It's an easy read which provides us the opportunity to think about just what it is we can do without...if just for a month!

Nancy,  The book looks interesting---I just might pick it up (although I'm NOT giving up my cell :)

You told me about this book!  I would love to read it if you haven't loaned it out already.  And if you have, just put my name on your waiting list.  I think I definitely need this book!

Carole...I'm not giving up my cell phone either!!  If you read the book, you'll see that she saw that it didn't make much sense either.

Nancy I love the concept of this! For several years, I have purposed to live with less. A wise mentor said to me about a year ago, that, '..if I take 1 thing a day into a room, in a month, I have 30 things; in a year 365! What do we really NEED?'

Excellent! A blessed new year!

I've not had a cell phone for 2 months and at times it's inconvenient but mostly it's a relief.  Also saves me $$$

Of course, I talk to myself more than I used to.  :)

Wow Rita.  Impressive!  I don't think for me it's practical but that's the great thing about life...what's a necessity in my life may not be one in yours!

Indeed.  Your job requires you to be more available than mine.
