Okay, I've now accumulated 7 8 9 TOO MANY new COOL Twitter tools that I just HAD to share with you (if you're on Twitter, that is!).
1. http://twitter.com/MrTweet - Who should you follow? This great service analyzes your profile and the folks you are following, and recommends new people for you to follow. It's excellent!
2. http://friendorfollow.com - Who's NOT following you? This brand NEW service shows you ALL the people you are following, who are NOT following you back. So you can send them each a "tweet" asking that they follow you back. "I'm following you on Twitter, please follow me back!"
3. http://twitter.com/grader - This service analyzes your usage and tweets you back with a "grade". For instance, 79/100.
4. http://tinyurl.com to help you shorten your TWEETS to fit into the 140 character box! (also try http://tweetshrink.com)
5. http://twirl.com is a software that you download. When you open it, you can use it to "tweet" during the day. I've tweaked the settings so it only pops up when I get a tweet or DM with my name mentioned. And I turned off the noise too!
Another alternative is http://www.tweetdeck.com -- a software that you download. It allows you to see all of your DMs (Direct Messages) and replies very easily. Otherwise, your messages can get "lost". I'm surprised how many messages I wasn't getting until I started using Tweet Deck.
6. http://tweetchat.com This is a "place" where everyone can communicate about 1 specific topic based on HASH-TAGS (#). When you see the "#" in a Tweet, go to Tweet Chat and enter the "#___" and you will see all those messages. For example, #TCOT is "Top Conservatives on Twitter"; #Chargers is for San Diego Chargers fans; #Pray4 is a request to pray for someone; #QUOTE is an inspirational quote; #REBCLA is Real Estate Bar Camp in L.A..
NOTE: Another great way to view specific topics (they don't need the hashtag entered) is http://tweetgrid.com/irc , thanks to @AndyKaufman
7. http://www.twellow.com/, the Twitter yellow pages to find others on Twitter!
8. http://www.powertweeter.com - Recommended by Lawrence Bland @mtgmantx , a great new service that helps you get massive followers (Lawrence has over 5,000).
9. http://www.TwitDir.com is a great place to go to see your twitter stats.
10. http://www.tweetgrid.com to monitor a specific topic. It can be a hashtag (#) topic or ANY word or phrase (more powerful than #6 above); and the best part is that you can monitor several topics at once. Find out what's being said about you & your company. Or, monitor for "real estate" in your "city" so you can contact prospective clients right away!
11. Now, tweet your listings with TweetListing as explained by Bill Gassett: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1102556/send-all-your-listings-to-twitter-with-tweetlister-
12. Last, but not least, once you get going, you'll notice that you're following a lot of people who are not following you back! You'll need to "unfollow" them to weed out the "dead wood". It'll make your ratios better and you'll see a lot more productivity. http://www.justunfollow.com/unfollow.do I just used this nifty little tool to UNFOLLOW & also to FOLLOW those who were following me, but I wasn't following them.
UPDATE: Be sure to follow these ActiveRain members on Twitter: http://activerain.com/blogsview/845933/Official-Active-Rain-Twitter-Account-Checklist-Follow-these-people-and-add-your-own-account-name - thanks to Castellum Realty in PA.
And check out the following post by Katerina Gasset which features non-AR members in the real estate field whom everyone should follow: Who Are Your Top Ten Tweets To Follow On Twitter?
I'm @GoldenPen if you want to follow me... I promise to follow you back!
