It seems like just yesterday that I had two young children.  Today both are young adults who make me rather proud.  I was uploading pictures to Flickr and  came across this picture of a day spent at MOMA with my son.  This was just a reminder of how precious time spends with our children is.

Before you know it they are grown and out of the house. So don't waste these precious moments.  I always thought about the song "Cats in the Cradle" and wanted to make sure I never had those regrets.

Jennifer ~ Boy, are you right!  My son has been home from college for the past couple of weeks and I really missed him.  Of course, he's working while on break, and we pass like two ships in the night, but I get a big hug every day!

Jennifer - Your son is very handsome.  You are so right, the time goes too fast.  My daughter just turned 11 and it seems like she was a baby only yesterday.  I recently had her write and sign a document promising she will always hug me.  : )  Probably have to pull that out a couple times in the years to come.

Jennifer the time just goes way to fast.  My oldest just got married on Saturday, and the youngest is a year way from graduating college.  seems just like yesterday that I was teaching them how to throw a ball.

Hi Jennifer,
Too true!  Though my little one is still very young, I see time speeding up each year.  We're enjoying the holidays and our time together (well, ok---most of the time.  LOL!)

What a great post and pic!  Your post re-enforced my desire to spend as much time with my HS junior this vacation - I haven't been to the office in days.  It seems like it was just the other day when he was ten.  Where does the time go?

BTW - very handsome son you have!  ;-)

Jennifer, I'm going to agree with everyone else.  Your son is a handsome young man.  You are right they grow so fast, it seems like yesterday my children were small and now I also have two young adults and I'm proud of them also.  My kids are 23 and almost 27.  How old are your children?

Those precious memories are  something that can't be taken away.

Jennifer - Ilove MOMA! I took my kids when they were 18 & 12 and they complained the entire time! Lucky for you that your son enjoys the cultural experiences!

Marchel - Sometimes I miss the younger years.  Pictures helps me to recapture some of those precious moments.    My son and daughter are slightly younger than yours, they subcribe to my feed if you get what I mean.

Carol - He is a very interesting young man, so it is a pleasure spending time together.

Ann -I couldn't agree more.

Jennifer, I totally agree.  However, if you're far from family, the holiday season is a great time to be with good friends, too!

Jennifer, I met my brother (from Alabama- visiting) at the Museum of Natural History last week- while his nine year old daughter ran out of gas in fairly short order, it's stuff like this that kids remember.

And it doesn't have to be just children. I'm a big proponent of spending time with our elders and letting them share their stories with us. That could be because I was raised by my grandmother, the smartest woman in the world. She went on to better things in 2003.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life -- make it a good start.

Jennifer,

You are right.  Time is very precious and it goes by so fast.  Being a divorced father, it was very important that I stay close to my daughter.  So each time I get to see her is more special than the last.  I keep this fond memory in my heart ....when courtney was a little girl, she came down for a visit.  I was raining and i suggested that she and i get our umbrellas and walk around the neighborhood in the rain.  I didn't think much of it.....well she raved on and on to her mother about the great time she had walking in the rain.  It's the little things that count.

Happy New Year
