Hola Amigos and Friends!

A few days ago I posted a blog asking if it was allowed to write blogs in Spanish, see: "Spanish or English, Do you Know?". The main reason why I did it is because I had not seen one.  A few people posted comments and then someone suggested that I should create a group to discuss information in Spanish.  That gave me the idea to look first to see if such a group was already created.  I was pleasantly surprised to find a group called "La Lluvia". I have joined this group and I am very excited to start contributing information for the Hispanic community.

Hola Amiga!  Do you think if I join the group I might learn to speak spanish?  Right now my vocabulary is small and some of it consists of Columbian slang!  I have to resort to Babelfish to translate any correspondance I may have to send to spanish speaking people!

Terri,

Exelente, you are making an effort and that is what counts.  Open your circle of associates and find bilingual agents that might help you when you need it.  People appreciate the effort no matter what lenguage.

Thanks Carmen.  I recently did a staging job and the realtor hired a painter from Columbia.  I did a babel fish before I left for the house, because I knew I'd have to speak to him.  He was pleasantly surprised that I could at least get my point across and most impressed that I knew the Columbians used the Italian "Ciao" when saying goodbye.  When I lived in El Paso I did learn enough to speak with the "burrito" lady who came with lunch everyday.  I'd really like to take spanish lessons but never seem to have the time.  Thanks for responding.  I know, every little bit helps.  Ciao!

Carmen, Welcome! And we hope to see more blogs in spanish. My writing in spanish is not all that great, pero por lo menos lo intento. Bienvenida! Love your post! Y me parece muy buena idea que lo escribas en los dos idiomas. Creo que asi los demas members de Active Rain will be able to read them as well. ;)
