Have you ever met someone that doesn't really say that much, but when they do it's usually something really insightful or profound??

I must warn you... I am not such a person.  Sometimes I just talk to hear my own voice.  Usually I have a point to make & by golly, it's your lucky day... because this is one of those times.

In the hustle and bustle of our business, it's easy to get beat up by the negativity that swirls around us all day long.  It's easy to get frustrated on those days when you're not sure you've made a difference in the world.

I would like to share with you some of the most inspiring words I believe I have ever read. May they bring a little shower of hope & sunshine your way.  Happy Friday!

Our Greatest Fear
(Nelson Mandela 1994 Inaugural Speech)

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,
but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Ronda...

Those are never fun, are they??  My absolute favorite line in that speech is "Your playing small does not serve the world."  That is what keeps me going when I really don't feel like it sometimes!!

Tomorrow starts a new week... Go out there & show them what you're made of!

Steven:  So true.  It actually makes me feel guilty when I read it and don't feel as if I gave 110% that day.  It's been a great source of motivation for me.

These are inspiring words Sue.

This famous very moving & inspiring speech befitting the essence & humility of Nelson Mandela was actually written by American Minister & Course in Miracles Teacher, Marianne Williamson, also the author of several books - A Woman's Worth, Return to Love, Illuminata, among several others.

Thanks for posting this inspiring reminder.

Deborah:  Thank you for clarifying the author.  I only knew of it as his Inaugural Speech.

Julie:  We do need those reminders, don't we?

One of my favorite speeches.  Pretty much brings a tear to the eye!  I just completed a short book, "Positive Impact," wherein one of the guys had banners with excellent, jazzed quotes/sayings.  I think I may take a few of the gems in this speech and make a few banners today.  :)  Have a great week.

Lisa:  What a fabulous idea!  I would need just one banner, although you create many... "Your playing small doesn't serve the world"!  My favorite line in the whole thing.
