My client had a cute little house in a great Seattle neighborhood a with a big mirror attached to the wall in a totally random spot.
Since I wasn't about to rip it down and chance having to repair the wall, I had to figure out how to make it work. And I think this was a pretty dang good solution!
The table is one that I've used many times, and the beauty of it is it looks really substantial even though it doesn't take up a lot of space. The frame hung on the mirror is a trick I've used with big mirrors over fireplaces that are typically found in 1950's style homes. It creates a focus and brings down the scale.
All-in-all, a little staging turns something that's a detriment into a design feature and created an entry way where none existed.
