What fun to wrap up the year with a review of some our "Active Rain Predictions for 2008"  Those AR members that participated at the end of 2007 looked at the coming year from a variety of angles. Some like AR's own Matt Heaton were very serious, others like Manhattan Broker extraordinaire Mitch Hall could not resist  delighting us with a "tongue in cheek" perspective, and of course we had the usual "off the wall" characters, (can you spell "Carnac" ) doing their thing!

Have fun reading through! I think you will be amazed at the accuracy of some of these, especially Matt and Lenn Harley, and totally entertained by the off beat humor of the not so serious AR prognosticators!

What a great idea to post these together for folks who had not joined Activerain before this year. It was a fun project to participate in. I'll look back at some of them and see who said was as my memory is not that good. LOL I did read Matt's and Lenn's this week and they were almost perfect.

Normally I might be offended at being called "off the wall" but you put me in a category with Ardell and Carnac, so I am honored.

Maybe I should change my tagline to Melina Tomson, An Off The Wall Agent for Off the Wall Times...

I had planned to do 2009 predictions but I'm worried I'll fall into the "needs to go the insane asylum" category next year...Oh well...

Seriously though...thanks for putting this together.

Hi Ginger - this took some time to put together, and it does make for some interesting reading to see how close some of these predictions came.  Some were right on the money!

Happy New Year to you, and thank you so much for the message on Twitter - that means so much to me.

Ginger, Thank you for putting together this post and including mine. It is the first thing I've read in 2009. I just read and enjoyed all of them. I'm retiring my crystal ball. I think my listing presentation for sellers in 2009 should be "I have comps but your guess is as good as mine". lol

I wish you and Roger all the best in 2009.

Not to pooh-pooh any excitement for 2009, but I think the reality of things to come is in the value of the dollar, which to my dismay, matt missed. The dollar is declining on the world scale daily. The mid-east oil companies will not even accept the dollar in payment anymore. My prediction for 2009?? I think the government's effort to shore up the housing market will cause a short-term flurry and we had all better work as hard as we can during that time. Sadly, I think we will see the Euro become the standard of payment world-wide. Things are moving so rapidly in that direction. My point to all of this is to encourage all of us to SHIFT (Gary Keller) with the market as much as we possibly can. We need to think outside the box of additional ways to increase our business and our earnings. We need to be aware of what is going on with our government and other world governments... The saying is that LUCK is when prepardness meets opportunity. I wish everyone good luck for 2009!
