Lemon tree, very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet...

By

... but the fruit of the poor lemon, is impossible to eat.

For those of you who recognized the lyrics to Trini Lopez's legendary song "Lemon Tree"... man y'all are OLD!

My Friend-in-the-Rain, Charles Buell, was kind enough to name me a lemon... (a LEMON?!)... because his 10 favourite RainyDay people, here on AR are no longer speaking to him, due to all the MeMe's he's thrown around the pool... so he had to go to his second  third  next  some other tier, and chose me, as someone who he thought might entertain, enlighten and/or challenge you.

I think this makes my Hundred-and-Eleventeenth Post today, but what the heck... New Year's Eve is coming, and I can stop whenever I want to... no, really... I can stop just like that (snaps fingers).  No really... I can stop... watch:

OK... now

I've decided to start again...(how long was that?) I didn't have to start up ... i wanted to (there's a difference) And I wasn't having withdrawal... I was just a little cold.. that's why I was shivering.  So.. since Charlie (that's what I call him... Charlie and I are buddy-buddy...and he let's me call him Charlie..)

[huh... what's that?... on the phone?... really?   now?.... okay, lemme have the phone.... hey Charlie... wha'.... well, I .... no, huh... okay... .yeah... i understand... Charles... I get it.... no... I understand...a restraining order won't be necessary]

Where was I? ... oh, right.... So...Since Charles said I get to make up the rules... here they is:

I'm gonna name 10 people here on AR, that I've enjoyed reading... Y'all can choose to read 'em, and enjoy them (like me), or not.  They can then choose to pass on the Lemon Grenade, or not.  There is no requirement to keep this Chain-Lemon going.

In no particular order:

1. Mike Mueller - Mike has been informative, and funny... not to mention incredibly good-looking (there, Mike... do I get the $3.00 now?) Mike wrote a recent video post, showing how to make video posts.... classic and in clear English.. no computer-ese.

2. Russell Lewis - Russell (with two "L's") is a terrific photographer, and is funny and irreverent.  If you seek through his posts, you'll see he's even been an irreverent Santa... (yes, I could post a link, but I think you'll find it more rewarding to persue his posts on your own).

3. Matt Stigliano - Matt is a new voice to AR, but he's a strong and curious voice, and I think you'll enjoy "questioning the world" with him... besides... he feels somewhat like a long lost brother.

4. Charles Buell - Charles... no, I said it right... Charles.... this is not payback... I have learned a lot from reading Charles' blog.  And some of it's been GOOD.  See if you can get anything good from reading his blog.  And watch out for the squirrel, and the croe.  He's got a lot of good inspector knowledge up there, and occasionally some of it leaks out on his blog.

5. Okay, recognizing that the preceeding four were a bit male-centric.... Liz Moras, is a great read.  I know that Charles mentioned her in his Lemon Post... but there's no rules, and Liz is totally worth a second mention, and a read.  Great photos, great copy... I almost envy you the experience of your first read with Liz.

6. Russel Ray with ONE "L". Russel is another inspector, and I've found him to be knowledgeable and able to translate his knowledge into something the layperson (read that as "realtor") can read and understand.  My gosh, his series on foundation cracks, should be college level course.

7. Tami Vroma - Another relatively newcomer to AR, but she's a force of nature.  A horsewoman, and a wonderful read... she'll enthrall you, as she has me.  Thoughtful, provocative, and enjoyably readable.  It doesn't hurt that she's on a first-name basis with Active Brad.... don't ask.... Try her, you'll like her!

8. For those of you looking for your technology fix, Jeff Turner's your guy.  Jeff has done several video tutorials which have been wonderfully detailed, and created in plain simple speak. I've learned much about AR, and more (he's a Mac guy, as am I, and I love that)... I tried a widget that he recommended, and when I had trouble with it... I suddenly had Jeff on my cell phone... he phoned me to help me with it... dude, you da man!

(Almost finished... phew, this takes a while.)

9. For educational, emotional and spiritual renewal... read Elizabeth Nieves.  I think everyone on AR knows her, but just in case... please check out her blogs... they are, as she is, inspirational.

10. And last, but certainly not least, another relatively newbie... Tana Plewes, she doesn't write frequently enough for my taste, but what she does write is worth reading.  She's got a strong voice, and alot to say... and she'll get to it... ride along.  Maybe a little encouragement?

this was a very difficult list to put together... I have so many more names that deserve attention... Jason Crouch leaps to mind, but EVERYbody knows the crouchmeister... Rich Jacobson, Dean Moss, Craig Rutman, Melissa Breeland, Larry Betag, Jesse Clifton,

I feel like I'm reading the names quickly as the music plays at the Academy Awards...

Clint Miller, Greg Nino, Sally Cheeseman, Greg Nino, Todd Clark... there are so many more... but they're waving me off.....

Alan, how kind of you to include me on this list.  I haven't danced in the rain for ages.  This is the second note of encourage I have received today (the other was Liz). I will get back at it. I woke up early this morning with the urge to write.  Thanks for reminding me how much I enjoy it here.  - Tana

Alan - Wow, I'm in some amazing company here.  Some of them I don't know, but I know will have to delve deeper and learn.  I like this better than the 10 millionth MeMe as its a little less painful to think about (I am better at talking about others than myself).  I will get to work on mine and post soon.  Thanks again, I am feeling pretty honored.

You have some of my favorite people on your list.  I've even met three of them in person and have the photos to prove it.  :-)  I will check out Tana, since she is the only one on this list that I don't currently subscribe to.

Zoey the Cool Cat caught a little birdie today that told me I should stop by over here because I was being skewered, branded, and talked about. Ah, heck. It's just lemonade. LOL

Excluding #6, whom I know nothing about, I think you created a pretty fine list. I'll take your word that #6 is okay.

Alan - I am so humbled by the way you describe me . . ."a force of nature".  It is funny how other people describe you, when you don't see your self that way.  These internet relationships really amaze me!  The different and strong feelings you have for people and the bonds you form over a computer for crying out loud.  Yet the people I have realtionships with here at AR are very important to me. .  .you Alan are one of those dear friends!  To be counted among people like Elizabeth and Jeff is truly humbling!

Several of the people you have on your list I don't know but I will because my friend Alan says they are good people.  It also amazed me that Jason Crouch subscribes to me!!!  Jason Crouch--the king of blogging knows who I AM!!

Thank you for being my friend!!

This is my first comment in several days, so I am off to do some catch up!!  Have a wonderful new year Alan!  You are the greatest!

Hi Alan, I got to this post from Tami V's link. It's interesting to read what you say about those on your list. Then it's fun to get their responses. I abhor chain letters/mail (the dreaded me mes) but you certainly made lemons out of lemonade ~ sorry, I couldn't resist! I've read some many posts from the people listed and I am enjoying getting to know them.

I'm glad that Tami's link lead you back here Marian, so you could be exposed to the list of high-quality posters... (of which, I'm sure you agree, Tami was a strong one).  I agree... I'm not a big fan of the MeMe's... but this one was worthwhile (in my opinion).

Hi Alan,

What a great idea!! I've never been hit by a lemon bomb before, but it was fun. I've been out of the Rain for days...sick with a yucky virus. I'm feeling so much better now, and I can't wait to play in the Rain. You've been a busy boy, my friend. AND...I LOVE YOUR PIC!! Elvis has left the building!

On a serious note...I've loved getting to know you over the past months. I'm looking forward to knowing you even more in the coming months. May 2009 be THE YEAR that ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE! ~GBU~
