The Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco.

Golden Gate Bridge

My son-in-law borrowed my computer for a few hours while he was visiting during Christmas.  I got back to the computer and saw this magnificent screen saver.  He said he put it on for me but I could take it off if I wanted to.

He took this picture himself.  That guy has a camera and equipment that would weigh down a donkey and he takes gorgeous photographs.  This is the Golden Gate Bridge that goes over to the place where everyone loses his/her heart.

One observation I'd make is that if this bridge were in Arkansas, the traffic would be composed of pick-up trucks!  They rule the road in this state of Arkansas!!  LOL

Barbara, great picture, when I was there last week I took this picture of a sign on the bridge that takes losing ones "heart" to a little different level.  The juxtaposition of the beauty and sadness was interesting.

Barbara,

Great looking picture.  My wife actually has some footage when driving across the bridge.  It is truly a beautiful man-made structure.

Brian, thanks for stopping by my blog!!

Charles, that is a sad sign.  I did think of your having been in San Francisco when I posted this.  My daughter once lived there also.

Josh and Kathy, the picture is not as good on this blog as it is on my screen saver.  I'm not sure how but it lost some of its detail.

Barbara, AR reduces the picture size so they always look crapier than the original----yours still looks pretty dang good.

Charles, it is spectacular on my computer.  You can see every detail.  It took a long time to upload so I guess that's while they were reducing it.

I remember going over this bridge in the early 70's when we were stationed in Alameda, California.  Sure takes me back!

Kay, I was there once also. But I don't remember it being this beautiful.  He picked out a great spot for a picture.

Barbara - I lost my heart in San Francisco and I especially fell in love with wht's on the other side of that bridge! It's God's country.  ...I laughed at the pick-up truck statement, Upstate NY/Hudson Valley - is where the rest of the pick-ups are! You wouldn't think so, considering we are only 70 miles north of NYC.

Mrs Barbara,

When Mr Charles was there he spent a night at Alcatraz. He missed the tour boat and had to stay on the beach or swim. He crashed on the beach. Nutsy

I wonder if a squirrel has ever been to the top of the Golden Gate Bridge?

Carol, it is strange that you have pick-up trucks in NY!  Now on which side of the bridge did you fall the hardest?  West or East?  I assume that's the way it runs.

Nutsy, were you with Mr. Charles when he passed out on the beach?  If so, I know you handled him gently and took care of him.

Charles, our little Nutsy has been there.  He was watching over you!!! LOL

Nice photo Barbara!  Ok, do the pick up trucks have a gun rack in the back along with a black lab?

Barbara,

I once toured Alcatraz, probably 20 years ago. Everyone asks where Capone was stored. Fact is, they moved people around so no one cell.

Eileen, the trucks will have a gun somewhere!!  Maybe under the seat and maybe in the gun rack.  Some have dogs but mostly mongrels!  That describes the animals not the truck-owners!  LOL

Steven, I toured it about that long ago also.  It had just opened and it was a fascinating tour.  Tickets were hard to get then.
