I was looking around on Realtor.org and found some interesting info for any person who has held membership in the National Association as a REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, or a combination of both, for a cumulative period of 40 years in one or more Associations of REALTORS®.

They are eligible for REALTOR® Emeritus status and this means that they will no longer have any Realtor dues.

Wow that is great.  I only have 28 years to go.

Congratulations on anyone who has received this status.

Good to know!  In 28 years, they will probably change the rule though.  It is, after all, Murphey's Law.

Great 1 down 39 to go! That seems like a long time.

Wow thats pretty impressive and I have to think that it's pretty rare. I only have 35 more years to go. I would like to see how many people have been in the business 40 years.

I took an MCE class a few months ago, and there were 3 people in the class whose license started with 00.  That's being licensed since back in the '60s.  I don't mind their dues being waived, but they need more education requirments as many are still "old school" when it comes to many things.

Jeff,

If you've been a REALTOR® for 40 years, you've already paid your dues.

Hey, I am getting close! I started in August 1973. But, then I started with a new Broker, whose old broker was mad that she left and so we were not able to join the board & mls for 6 months... so now it is looking longer..  Well, maybe I will get a couple of years free if life goes well and I can still see the keys on my PC... or whatever we are using them!  Free is OK. Free is good!

Donna,

I think everyone needs to keep up.  I know newer agents who need to be updated.
