Bad Experience Today

I had a very disturbing experience today with a "Sanitation Company." I have a client who owns a four-plex where my sister lives. Today there was a sewer back-up with overflow into her kitchen and bathroom. Rotor rooter came and snaked out the sewer line and did a great job. However, after the line was snaked they sent a sanitation company out to disinfect the apartment. The sanitation company said the pergo floor in the whole apartment needed to be taken up and replaced because the sewage was getting under the pergo and would cause health problems and mold. This was evidenced by the fact that the pergo had buckled. I tried to explain that the pergo was buckled before this happened, and that the water with sewage had been cleaned up as soon as it happened. They insisted that I call the insurance company right away and open a claim so they could start doing the $6000 job on a 750 square foot apartment in the morning. The contractor I work with came over and told me there was no damage to the floor. I think this is a scam and I am not happy. Anyone else have this experience?
