Happy New Year Sacramento

Happy New Year Sacramento!

If you haven't made your New Year's Eve plans or you just relocated to Sacramento and wonder what celebrations may be going on for New Year's Eve here are 2 FREE choices for you.

Every year Old Town Sacramento by the Tower Bridge celebrates the New Year in style at the waterfront with fireworks at 9:00 pm and again at midnight. The evening begins at 6:00 pm with street entertainment, fire jugglers and strolling bands.

This year will be the first BALL drop in Sacramento which will be held at 10th and K Streets in Downtown Sacramento. It will be scaled down from the Times Square Ball drop in New York City.  Sacramento will have it's own Ball drop.  Paragary Restaurant came up with the idea and 22 other businesses have joined in to help support this event.

10th Street will be blocked off between L and J for the party. The ball will be a meter wide dropping from a building on the southwest corner of 10th and K lighting up a 2009 sign with all the cheers and horn blowing.

This may become a tradition in Sacramento...

Gena - Happy New Year! We have a ball drop at the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla which is supposedly quite a big deal. Never been. We'll do the usual - watch Times Square on TV at 9 pm. :)

Gena I hope you have a great New Year and don't wake up with a big head tomorrow. Well not any bigger than most of us Realtors have:)

Hi Gena - we have a really nice First Night Celebration here in Portsmouth, but no ball dropping here.  I've got some plans or a roadmap for next year that I'm going to put down in writing over the next day, and I am planning to succeed.

Happy New Year,
Ann

Jeff, the new mayor of Sacramento was saying that this new ball drop was the 1st on the west coast...guess they didn't know about La Jolla.  Sounds like our evening was about the same. Happy New Year to you, too!

Bill, just 2 glasses of champagne here, so the head was fine.  Happy New Year!

Ann, I'm sure you will succeed. Always good to know where you're going so that you can get there a little easier. Happy New Year!

Fred, well thank you.  Love the balloons!! Happy New Year to you and your family, as well.
