It's time again for the Charleston County Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup.  It will be held on May 12, 2007 (rain date will be May 19).  All interested volunteers can pick up their supplies on May 9 at the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) in North Charleston.

The DOT is also asking that drivers be especially alert and mindful of the roadside volunteers on that day who are picking up trash and working hard to beautify our surroundings.

This project really works!  In 2006, 1,594 Charleston County Adopt-A-Highway volunteers contributed a total of 4,031 hours to remove 53,723 pounds of litter from Charleston County's roadsides!

Please come out on May 12 and show your South Carolina Pride!
