Congratulations to the Soddy Daisy High School football cheerleading squad. The 15 person team has just won the 2008 Small Varsity Division National Cheerleaders Association championship. This is the 2nd championship the Soddy Daisy cheerleading team has won. The other championship was in 2002.
This year's team placed 8th in last year's NCA competition.

Shay Freeman, one of the cheerleaders, credited this year's success to their demanding practice schedule that the team has continued since last March.
Morgan Myers, another of the cheerleaders, spoke before their routine on the final day of competition, that the team was ready to "have the best time ever."
The varsity coach is Vicki Jackson. She is assisted by Jo Ellen Craze.
